New York City, one building at a time.
LoreTour maps all one million buildings in New York City and the fascinating history behind each one: which celebrity lived there, what inspired the architect, how it looked 100 years ago, which band performed there, and much, much more.
About LoreTour
LoreTour maps all one million buildings in New York City and the history behind each one. Drawing on the best of what’s been written and photographed online—newspaper articles, old photographs, city records, map data, etc.—LoreTour offers custom guides, makes recommendations, and presents historical timelines for users to become better acquainted with New York City.
Each building’s history is a short timeline drafted by AI and fact-checked against reliable sources. If a building doesn’t have one yet, you can generate it in about a minute, and everyone who opens that building will be able to see it.
Ask the guide for a custom tour. It plans from the buildings and stories on the map and can help with much more: walking routes along the city’s real street network, finding buildings that match what you’re looking for, generating sightseeing ideas in a neighborhood, and much more.
Share anything you’d like about a building in the Comments section and see what others have to say. Save a building by clicking the bookmark icon, and find your saved buildings in the Profile tab.
